The Position

Emerge Allied Health is based in Launceston and delivers outreach services to regional areas of Tasmania. Due to a period of growth, this diverse team are seeking another suitably qualified Speech Pathologist to join their dynamic team, where creative ideas are encouraged.

The ideal candidate will enjoy collaborating with a down to earth team and possess excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

Emerge Allied Health is offering this position as either permanent full time, part time or as a subcontractor.

You will be responsible for…

  • Delivering quality infant, child, and adolescent speech services across several generalist clinical areas, with the option to specialise within your niche area.
  • Working collaboratively and effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Participate in service development to ensure Emerge services remain current and innovative.
  • Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within a team and by engaging in professional development activities.

You will need…

  • Have Membership or eligibility with relevant professional bodies and the ability to apply for Medicare Services.
  • Demonstrated experience to function autonomously and must love working as part of a team.
  • Experience working with children and families and a commitment to family centred practice.
  • Recently graduated Speech Pathologists are also encouraged to apply; it is a supportive team that wants you to flourish.
  • Adherence to relevant legislative requirements, possessing both a Working with Vulnerable Children and current Police Check, and a dedicated commitment to the Child Safeguarding framework.

This position can be based in either the North (Launceston) or the East Coast of Tasmania (St Helens). Given the outreach nature of the position, involving travel and/or telehealth, a valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle are essential. What a great way to explore the Island!

Emerge Allied Health is primarily a paediatric service seeing young people and their families. The practice was born out of a desire to offer down to earth, evidence-based services and to work alongside children, families and the broader early years workforce to reach their goals and to become the best version of themselves. Emerge offers both individual, family and group programs in person and via telehealth as well as training and capacity building to the broader workforce.

You will be joining a truly diverse team. Currently, the team comprises of psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy, literacy instructors, behaviour therapy, play and art therapy, physiotherapy, and dietetics with a strong referral base and peer supervision.
