About HR+

Based in Launceston, Tasmania, HR+ is a not-for-profit incorporated association contracted by the Australian government to recruit and retain general practitioners, nursing and allied health professionals in Tasmania, with an emphasis on rural and remote communities

Our organisation is one of seven Rural Workforce Agencies funded by the Australian Government nationally. HR+ also delivers the Health Workforce Scholarship Program.

In short we:

  • recruit the best medical and allied health professionals to Tasmania
  • offer scholarships for health professionals and practice staff
  • provide opportunities for professional development and conferences
  • work alongside, supporting medical and allied health practices
  • engage with medical, nursing and allied health students to develop the future primary health workforce in Tasmania

HR+ also:

  • is a registered NDIS provider, assisting people to achieve their NDIS goals
  • provides NDIS participants with support coordination
  • provides plan management for NDIS participants wanting to build their capacity to manage the financial aspects of their plan
  • facilitates human resource management for those choosing to self-manage their own team of support staff
  • facilitates training and development opportunities for NDIS participants
  • encourages and supports NDIS clients to explore micro-enterprise opportunities
  • celebrates milestones and recognises the difficulties for clients along their journeys
  • applies for information, linking and capacity-building grants (either discretely as HR+ or in partnership with other organisations) to foster improved engagement for people living with a disability
