Glenorchy Medical Centre

IPN
Location: Southern Tasmania       Occupation: General Practitioner       Title Description: GP       Position Type: Full Time, Permanent, Part Time
DPA: Yes       MMM: 2       Moratorium Period: 9

Dr Don McLeod is retiring from Glenorchy Medical Centre after over 40 years at the practice, and we’re seeking a qualified full-time GP to inherit his waiting patient base.

The Position

Glenorchy Medical Centre is a mixed billing practice in Glenorchy, open Monday – Friday. The modern centre has 12 doctor consult rooms, a 4-bed treatment room, and 1 procedure room. Hobart Pathology is conveniently located nearby, along with Priceline Pharmacy and Radiology services.

The new GP will be joining a team of 5 very experienced doctors who provide an exceptional personalised service to their patients. The centre has a high patient volume, and they see a wide variety of cases consisting of paediatrics, adolescence, geriatric, aged care, and multicultural and indigenous care. The new GP will be supported by an efficient administrative team and 3 full-time nurses for treatment room duties and to run health management clinics every day.

All IPN clinics in Tasmania are now classified as MMM2 & MMM3 plus also DPA approved locations. This new classification allows Doctors on FSP, PEP and other 3GA programs to fulfil their Fellowship pathway requirements. We encourage IMGs holding General Registration to apply.

HR+ provide an invaluable service to Practice Managers in Tasmania. Jenny has acted as a mentoring support for me since I commenced at Don Medical Clinic in September 2018, and also supported me through networking events and education during my previous practice manager role in Hobart. Having a mentor like Jenny from HR+ has made a huge difference to me as I find my feet in the challenging world of practice management. I have found the support that HR+ provide, not only with mentoring but also the events put on by the Practice Support team, and the email support networking resources that are regularly provided, are invaluable and I am sure for many other practice managers in the state.
