Invermay Allied Health (Greer Maine Speech Pathology) are excited to offer two unique opportunities at Invermay Allied Health – one for a new or recent graduate and another subcontracting position for an experienced therapist (2+ years). Their caseload focuses on supporting children and teens with developmental delays and disabilities, providing a rewarding and dynamic work environment. You'll be part of a multidisciplinary clinic that includes Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Social Workers, working together in a well-equipped space with dedicated therapy rooms and plenty of resources. The Position

  • New Graduate Role: You’ll receive mentorship from an experienced Speech Pathologist, with a structured progression and reduced clinical hours at the start. You’ll also benefit from weekly supervision, a $1,000 professional development budget, and opportunities for shadowing and collaborative sessions with senior therapists.
  • Subcontracting Role: For more experienced therapists, they offer generous subcontracting conditions with the flexibility to set your own billable hours. You’ll also have access to clinical support and the independence to manage your workload.

They’re offering both full-time and part-time opportunities and pay structures will align with your skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assessment & Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for children with developmental challenges.
  • Individualized Therapy: Develop and implement therapy plans tailored to each child's unique needs, including speech delays, language disorders, and AAC methods.
  • Family Support: Work closely with families to provide education and strategies for continued support at home.
  • Collaboration: Engage with educators and healthcare professionals to deliver holistic care.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to NDIS plans and funding applications.
  • Professional Growth: Stay current with research and participate in ongoing development.
  • Community Engagement: Advocate for inclusive practices within the community and education systems.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech Pathology, with eligibility for SPA registration.
  • Experience: Prior experience working with children with disabilities is preferred. Experience with NDIS is advantageous.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of child speech and language development, excellent communication, and proficiency in AAC is a plus.
  • Personal Attributes: Empathy, adaptability, and a commitment to ongoing learning.

The Organisation

Greer Maine Speech Pathology operates within the Invermay Allied Health Building, a consortium of different allied health sole traders sharing resources and space under the one roof. Whilst operating businesses separately they also enjoy the opportunity to work collaboratively when possible and share a number of common clients across disciplines.

They have a strong focus on relationship building, values and ethical practice. With regards to their speech pathology caseload, they have a focus on family centred, early intervention support for children with developmental delays and disabilities. The ideal candidate would share an interest in the field of early intervention and/or disability and specific interest/experience in areas such as paediatrics, Augmentative and Alternative Communication and family centred practice.
