Cornerstone Youth Services Inc. (CYS) have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Clinical Lead to support a dynamic multidisciplinary youth mental health team delivering evidence-based clinical mental health services to young people aged 12-25 and their families.

The Position

Youth in Mind Outreach Services incorporates a range of innovative youth specialist services offered to young people in the North and North West of Tasmania. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic multidisciplinary youth mental health team delivering evidence-based clinical mental health services to young people aged 12-25 and their families.

The Clinical Lead is a key leadership position within (CYS) and is primarily responsible for providing leadership and direction ensuring that day-to-day clinical work is carried out effectively. The Clinical Lead will work collaboratively across the Launceston, Devonport and Burnie Centres and will maintain working relationships with key agencies in the community.

The Clinical Lead position will hold a small caseload as part of the Youth Engagement Team (YET) by providing a therapeutic and case management outreach service for young people presenting with, or at risk of complex mental ill health.

About you

A flexible and dynamic leader, with a vision for improving youth mental health outcomes in the North and North West of Tasmania. You will have a collaborative leadership style with the capacity to motivate and guide a multi-disciplinary team. You will have considerable knowledge and experience in mental health service delivery. You will thrive in building strong stakeholder relationships and have a willingness to develop a vision for the clinical and non-clinical team.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Approved tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Nursing or Occupational Therapy.
  • Current full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) or eligibility for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • A current Working with Vulnerable People check.
  • Demonstrated experience and advanced level clinical skills in a range of mental health service settings, including youth mental health.
  • Experience in complex clinical triage (including identification and management of immediate clinical and/or safety concerns), assessment and referral.
  • Demonstrated experience in the leadership of multidisciplinary teams, including the provision of clinical supervision and the facilitation of clinical reviews and performance management processes.
