Launceston Allied Health is seeking a motivated and passionate occupational therapist to join their team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in both disability and aged care settings and also deliver the LSVT (Lee Silverman Voice Treatment) program, focusing on physical Parkinson's rehabilitation.

The Position

To be successful you must have an interest in Parkinson’s rehabilitation. The LSVT BIG and LSVT LOUD will provide an evidence-based therapy that as a full service does not exist anywhere else in the state.

The successful occupational therapist will be responsible for independently assessing, planning, and implementing neurological rehabilitation using the LSVT BIG therapy and occupational therapy interventions within NDIS and aged care. They will also be expected to develop client-centered goals and write comprehensive reports in accordance with professional standards.

Additionally, they will communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams, external stakeholders, and families. The successful candidate will also assist in the development of occupational therapy services through quality improvement activities and clinical placements for undergraduate students.

To be considered you must have:

  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Drivers license and own vehicle
  • Working with vulnerable people card
  • National Police Check

A willingness to undertake the LSVT BIG Therapy training, with the support of the team is also a requirement.

The Organisation

Launceston Allied Health is a branch of Allied Health Tasmania. They have offices in Launceston, Hobart and deliver services throughout the North West of Tasmanaia.

Launceston Allied Health work with a range of complex adult clients, including NDIS participants and Aged Care clients, with a focus on neurological health conditions, mental health, aged care packages, Parkinson’s and Dementia.

The team includes occupational therapists, a speech pathologist, and a sub-contracted physiotherapist. The high demand for the LSVT Therapy will be an area of growth for the organsiation.
