This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic youth mental health service leading a multidisciplinary team delivering evidence-based and innovative clinical mental health services to young people aged 12-25.

The Position

Cornerstone Youth Services (CYS) is currently seeking a full time Lead Mental Health Clinician to work in their Launceston office overseeing the Devonport and Burnie sites. The Clinical Lead will ensure the multidisciplinary team provide high quality clinical care in an integrated and coordinated way. The multidisciplinary team offers a range of holistic therapeutic interventions to promote positive mental health and wellbeing to young people, their families and caregivers.

The Lead Mental Health Clinician will engage with relevant stakeholders to provide coordinated service provision, clinical care pathways for young people and secondary consultation.

The Lead Mental Health Clinician will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring the ongoing delivery and improvement of evidence based care to clients
  • Providing clinical leadership and secondary consultation with specialist mental health care to young people and their families
  • Supervision, support and guidance of clinicians and youth workers
  • Recruitment and professional development of clinicians and youth workers
  • Working as part of the Clinical Governance Committee to ensure continuous quality improvement
  • Participating in interagency and stakeholder meetings

The Lead Mental Health Clinician will facilitate activities such as multi-disciplinary clinical meetings, caseload supervision, actively manage referrals and demand for clinical services and carry a small caseload.

CYS is a not for profit organisation that offers a broad range of services, including headspace, for young people aged 12-25 throughout North and North West Tasmania. All services are offered free of charge.

CYS provides high quality primary and clinical health services as well as information, advice and referrals for young people, their families and caregivers. CYS works across the youth mental health sector in developing innovative and responsive models of service provision and strives to excel in the delivery of services to young people. CYS also works in partnership with government and non-government organisations, services users and the community.
