Location: Northern Tasmania       Occupation: Nursing and Midwifery       Position Type: Permanent, Part Time      

Family Doctor Service is looking for a permanent part time registered or enrolled nurse with an ASAP start date. Self-motivated team player with experience in hospital or general practice looked upon favourably.

The Position

Family Doctor Service is seeking an enrolled or registered nurse to work between 2 -4 days per week - with a view to increase days if the need is there.

This role offers variety and autonomy, so if you thrive in a role where you can take ownership of your own workload then this is for you. This is a hands on practice where the nursing staff take a lead role in chronic disease management, diabetes, and asthma as well as children’s immunisations.

Daily requirements would also include general practice duties such as wound care and dressings with some variety in completing health assessments.

Key Requirements:

  • Highly developed verbal communication and written skills
  • Excellent people skills
  • Current drivers licence
  • Self-motivated\team player


  • AHPRA registration
  • Training and experience considered applicable/relevant to the Practice

The Organisation

Family Doctor Service is located in Kings Meadows and is a busy 5 doctor general practice. Many of the GP’s have their own special interests and so attract a wide variety of patients.

The practice prides itself in having a friendly working environment that encourages personal and professional growth within a supportive team and network. This team isn’t afraid to pitch in when help is needed.

Professional development is encouraged and it isn’t unusual for the team to be celebrating a birthday with a slice of cake!

Ongoing mentoring and training will be available, as well as regular education sessions with medicine insight. They have visiting professionals at monthly clinical meetings and medical representatives once a week.
