Tremaur Medical Centre, located in the heart of Launceston, is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Registered Nurse to join their team. You will play a pivotal role in their mission to provide the highest standard of patient care, incorporating a holistic, comprehensive approach to health promotion, prevention, diagnosis, and illness management.

The Position

As a practice nurse at Tremaur Medical Centre you will work together with the team to provide a wide range of general practice services. Some of your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Administering vaccinations to ensure the health and wellbeing of our patients.
  • Providing essential care for wounds and assisting in the removal of sutures.
  • Assisting with Minor Surgical Procedures:
  • Conducting health checks and identifying patients who will benefit from our comprehensive chronic disease management services.
  • Ensure that recall registers, pathology systems and individual and group documentation systems are continuously reviewed to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Monitor infection control cold chain processes.

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Current registration as a nurse with AHPRA.
  • Registration to work with vulnerable people.
  • A current national police check.
  • Previous experience in a general practice setting (preferred).
  • Proven multitasking, problem-solving, and time management skills to thrive in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems to manage patient records and healthcare data.
  • A commitment to providing patient-centred care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with patients and the healthcare team.
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement, contributing to the enhancement of patient care services.

Tremaur Medical Centre is an AGPAL accredited practice based in the heart of Launceston locally owned and operated. Tremaur Medical Centre has been caring for the health needs of the Launceston community for over 25 years.

Tremaur Medical Centre has always been a traditional family based General Practice, offering care across all ages, while enabling their team e a great deal of flexibility in consulting styles and hours of work. While the practice principal Dr. Chris Luttrell usually works full-time, other team members work on a part-time basis, allowing time with their families or to undertake other interests outside of work.
