Swansea General Practice is seeking an experienced registered nurse to join their busy practice in this scenic, close knit community.
The practice nurse position is an integral part of the Swansea General Practice and provides the sole nursing support to the 2 busy general practitioners. We are looking for a registered nurse with good communication and effective time management skills, the ability to work independently with little supervision as well as work effectively as a team member.
The Practice Nurse role duties includes: blood specimen collection, wound care, spirometry, ECG’s, infection control, triage, ordering vaccines and consumables, cold chain management, patient recalls and reminders, monitoring patients and assisting doctors with treatment room duties and procedures. Currently the position is 2 full days per week with the possibility of extending to more hours.
To be successful you must have legal rights to work in Australia as sponsorship is not available with this position. You must also have a current AHPRA Registration and a CPR certificate.
This is a busy rural practice, this small team work well together and support one another to deliver a caring service to their community. The current staff members have worked together for a long time and are passionate about their work and their working environment. There is a great culture and you will be appreciated for your contribution to the healthcare of the community.
Not only will you get to work with this great team but you will be working in Swansea, which is a pretty seaside village that looks over Great Oyster Bay to the spectacular granite peaks of Freycinet National Park. The town is surrounded by beautiful beaches, there are few towns in Tassie that enjoy such beautiful scenery and are also quiet, friendly and laid back.

The nearest large hospital is a 2 hour drive so this practice is often attending to patients requiring emergency treatment.
AS this is a rural location you will also be eligible to apply for a Health Workforce Scholarship Program through HR+ to complete short courses, post graduate studies or to attend conference and workshops in Tasmania or interstate with all expenses paid.
