Beaconsfield Doctors Surgery is seeking a Registered Nurse with general practice experience to work part time to support their General Practitioners in this beautiful rural setting.

The Position

As the practice nurse at Beaconsfield Doctors Surgery you will need the ability to work autonomously and have the opportunity to make this role your own!

This is a part time position, starting as 2 to 3 days per week with a view to increase your hours and there may be an opportunity to work full time in the future.

If successful you will be the sole nurse supporting the general practice team, including the 2 GP’s.

Amongst your duties will be:

  • Maintaining stock, ordering, storing and safe storage and disposal of drugs
  • Manage the recall system for all patients
  • Perform diagnostics as required by the GP, such as ECG, Spirometry, blood collection, INR and to assist with minor procedures
  • Annual health assessments, diabetes reviews and care plans

It is essential that you have the following:

  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Drivers Licence
  • The ability to work as an active member of a team.

The Organisation

Beaconsfield Doctors Surgery is part of Advanced Rural Health group of surgeries. They leverage from having a wide spread coverage of health services and knowledge sharing across Tasmania.

Their general practices include Beaconsfield, Evandale, Westbury and Sheffield and so you would be a part of a wider team of nurses and other practice staff and in addition to this you would have the full support of the head nurse.

Their services include, but are not limited to:

  • Chronic disease management
  • Health assessments
  • Pain management
  • Child health
  • Mental health

The practice located in the idyllic town of Beaconsfield, just a 40 minute drive from Launceston and a close drive to a number of national parks and the Tamar Valley.
