Bass House Surgery is seeking a part time registered nurse to join their well-established team in Burnie

The Position

This part time position (approximately 20 hours) for a registered nurse will be to cover hours on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday each week, with the opportunity for more hours depending on the needs of the patients. The hours will be between 8:30-5:00 although some flexibility can be negotiated with the right candidate. In return Bass House are seeking an easy going, friendly, flexible nurse to support our professional, but fun loving team!

Duties include (but are not limited to):

Triage, dressings, INR, BSL’s, ECG, spirometry, ordering of stock, cleaning and restocking GP’s rooms, assisting with removals, Implanon, Mirenas, immunisations, assist with iron infusions, recalls, and all other procedures that GP’s require assistance with.

The Organisation

Bass House Surgery team consists of six GP’s, two enrolled nurses, one registered nurse as well as four reception staff.

Their GP’s and staff are long standing and they have two of the original practice principals who started the practice over 40 years ago. The only short stay GP’s they employ are registrars as Bass House is a teaching practice. They also have 4th year medical students.

The Bass House enrolled nurses have a combined service of 45 years and reception staff have a combined service of 53 years. They also are lucky enough to have a “permanent casual” who is always keen on someone to go on leave so she can pick up some hours, she has been with them for over 8 years.

They have a good lot of patients and they consider themselves as a “good old fashioned family general practice”.
