Due to rapid growth Tasmanian Family Medical in Burnie is seeking an experienced practice nurse (RN or EN) to join their team in a full-time role!

The Position

This role will suit a registered or enrolled nurse with general practice experience. It is a full-time position (38 hours per week) with flexibility in chosen work hours between 8:30am and 7:00pm Monday to Friday. The successful nurse will play an integral role within an already dynamic and diverse team.

Working from spacious treatment rooms, emergency and procedure rooms are amongst the modern facilities the practice offers to enhance and optimise health outcomes to the community in picturesque Burnie and surrounding areas.

And what a great location! The former Australian Pulp and Paper administrative building is a spacious heritage-listed Art Deco classic with uninterrupted views of the bay across the road. Not only that, but it shares a carpark with Bunnings, which provides excellent exposure and access.

With a population of 20,000 and the administrative hub for Tasmania’s north-west coast, Burnie provides something for everyone. Apart from offering mouth-watering produce and an active arts community, it is within easy reach of magnificent Wilderness World Heritage Area parks and reserves, yet just an hour’s flight from Melbourne for that big city fix.

The Organisation

Tasmanian Family Medical opened in 2017 and has grown to a team of 12 general practitioners, supported by a practice management team, practice nurses and reception staff.

The practice offers the full range of GP services, including chronic disease management, immunisations, travel medicine, sports medicine, work-related injuries and workers compensation. Onsite services include pathology, audiology, psychology, physiotherapy, podiatry and orthotics, massage, hypnotherapy and specialist services.

The medical complex takes up two floors of this large building, with numerous generously proportioned consultation rooms (some with a sea view, all with natural light), treatment rooms and facilities for teaching. Resources include brand new high specification diagnostic and procedural equipment. You will have access to free parking.
