Are you a registered nurse looking for a fun, supportive team? Dr Lad's Surgery has 2 days per week available to work within a practice that is more like a family than a workplace.

The Position

Dr Lad’s Surgery have a great opportunity for a dedicated and experienced General Practice Nurse (RN) to join their team 2 days a week with flexibility to work additional hours if needed. The successful registered nurse must be able to work independently and as part of their supportive, professional, and fun team.

Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • To ensure a smooth and efficiently functioning practice, in addition to providing an exceptional standard of care to patients.
  • Performing clinical duties within required level of clinical competency, according to best available evidence.
  • Duties include: triage, immunisations and other injections, wound management, conducting preventative/screening procedures, chronic disease management, recalls, GPMP & TCA preparation, ECGs and collection of pathology samples, data management
  • Maintain clinical supplies- including correct storage and removal and disposal of out-of-date stock.
  • Assisting doctors with clinical procedures and maintaining clinical documentation.
  • Explaining procedures to patients, providing them with support and reassurance.

Essential Requirements:

  • General registration with AHPRA as an Registered Nurse

The Organisation

Established in 1987 by Dr Ulhas and Geeta Lad, Dr Lad’s Surgery provides high quality medical care 5 days a week to the community of Blackmans Bay and surrounding suburbs.

Dr Lad’s Surgery is a fully accredited, mixed billing, family medical practice. Their team are committed to holistic and preventative primary health care. The practice uses both Pracsoft and Medical Director Software. The team pride ourselves on the harmonious, family atmosphere of the practice. The team consists of four GP’s, a nurse and a team of 5 administration staff.

Blackmans Bay is a beautiful coastal suburb of Tasmania, located about 20 minutes from Hobart. Spend your spare time taking in the scenery and beautiful coastal walks.

A competitive, above award casual rate will be negotiated based on experience. Professional development is encouraged and shared with the staff and the fun things are celebrated, think Secret Santa at Christmas and then the practice closes so everyone gets a break.

Flexible work arrangements and hours will be considered, but 2 days would be ideal, with some flexibility to increase hours to cover holiday leave and busy periods.
