East Devonport Medical Centre is situated in the North West Coastal town of Devonport, approximately 8 kilometres from the Mersey Community Hospital in Latrobe. The practice services the East Devonport, Ambleside and Wesley Vale areas
East Devonport Medical Centre is a privately owned and operated group practice requiring the services of a full-time GP to replace a valued team member who has reluctantly had to leave. The practice which is purposely built would welcome inquiries from vocationally recognised GPs with no restrictions and who also have an interest in providing support to students and registrars.
Opening hours are from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday. We hold Saturday morning clinics on average 1-2 a month according to on call roster. The doctors work at mutually agreed individual consulting hours. The doctors regularly attend local nursing homes and home visits are available. The practice share on-call requirements with another local practice, add to which the after-hours triage service of Health direct and GP Assist are utilised to minimise out of hours call.
We have six well equipped consulting rooms, a theatre room and three nurse rooms. Six GPs are currently working at the practice and they are supported by a dedicated team of nurses and administration staff. We have NW Pathology, Launceston Lung Centre, Hearing Tasmania, Occupational Therapist and Dietician all attend the practice.
The practice is fully computerised and our clinical software is Best Practice.
We are a GPA accredited practice. The practice offers a mixture of private and bulk billing.
