Cygnet Family Practice is an accredited general practice based on a patient-centred, evidence-based, holistic healthcare model. The team members are skilled, enthusiastic and genuine in their patient care, and a wide variety of presentations makes for a rewarding and challenging clinical experience.
The practice is seeking a full-time VR GP to join the team who has clinical expertise in chronic disease management along with an interest in nutritional and environmental medicine. As the practice values education, the willingness to train and mentor registrars and medical students would be an advantage
The practice is currently open Monday to Friday 8.30 am – 5 pm, with evenings and Saturdays an option for the future. After hours is covered by Healthdirect Australia, so there is no requirement for on-call.
The township of Cygnet is situated in the beautiful Huon Valley, an hour south of Hobart. The eclectic Cygnet community is most welcoming, and passionate about the environment in which they live. The area is a popular tourist destination and Cygnet is a growing community, with a bustling array of lifestyle choices including sailing, sports and music and arts festivals. There is a choice of local public and private schooling from kindergarten to Grade 10.
Cygnet Family Practice is fully computerised and uses Best Practice and CDMNet. It operates a mixed billing model for health care services.
The staff is comprised of two doctors, one nurse practitioner, two practice nurses, practice manager and two receptionists. Access to local allied health practitioners includes referral pathways to a physiotherapist, diabetes educator, dietitian, podiatrist, psychologist, social worker, remedial masseuse and child & family health nurse.
The practitioners and staff are excited about their expansion and vision for future innovative, efficient healthcare, and are keen for the new GP to live in the area and embrace the lifestyle of living and working in a country practice.
What's on offer?
The practice is offering a competitive remuneration package based on 65% of billings or $150 per hour, whichever is greater. Relocation assistance may be available.
In conjunction with the practice, HR+ will organise a comprehensive orientation program on arrival as required.
