Provide high quality primary health care services to headspace Launceston patients in the 12 - 25 age range in keeping with best practice standards.
The purpose of the General Practitioner position is to effectively assess and treat the bio/psycho/social needs of young people accessing Cornerstone Youth Services Inc. (CYS) Launceston, in conjunction with input from their parents and/or carers where appropriate, and to provide evidence based therapeutic and clinical interventions in response to these needs.
The General Practitioner position is part of the Youth Health Team in headspace Launceston.
CYS is a not for profit organisation that offers a broad range of services, including headspace, for young people aged 12-25 throughout North and North West Tasmania. All services are offered free of charge.
CYS provides high quality primary and clinical health services as well as information, advice and referrals for young people, their families and caregivers. CYS works across the youth mental health sector in developing innovative and responsive models of service provision and strives to excel in the delivery of services to young people. CYS also works in partnership with government and non-government organisations, services users and the community.
