Physical Health Worker - Royal Flying Doctor Service (Triabunna/ Swansea/ St Helens)

Are you an Exercise physiologist or physical health worker with a Bachelor of Health Science or Exercise Science? Or in another related allied health role? Multiple opportunities are available to join this nationally recognised organisation- Royal Flying Doctor Service, Tasmania.

The Position

Multiple opportunites to join the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) team are open to experienced Exercise Physiologists’s or RFDS do offer a comprehensive graduate mentoring program to support you if you are at the beginning of your career.

Mentoring from a range of senior staff and professional development offered to the broader team will ensure you will achieve accelerated development and will have the opportunity to grow into a confident clinician.

There are multiple positions available on the East Coast, these can be based in St Helens, Swansea or Triabunna. The roles will be responsible for improving health outcomes for people living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cardiovascular disease, mental illness and dementia and to improve their quality of life. Experience in exercise programming will be beneficial.

This will suit those who enjoy being busy, managing their caseloads and administration, and those that are driven working autonomously on a daily basis (there will be no shortage of patients as it is a free service) and you will still have the benefits of a wider team.

There are so many reasons to live and work on the East Coast of Tasmania, these jobs being one of them! But it is also home to world class beaches, with long stretches of white sand and clear ocean water, endless bush walking options, Maria Island and so many historical sites to explore. It is also home to historical townships, fresh seafood and eateries and a range of fishing and diving options if that is your thing. Or simply enjoy the quiet time on offer here away from the rush of city life.

These health worker positions are for 3 to 4 days per week and remuneration will be based on qualifications and experience (Health Professionals & Support Services Award). A Bachelor of Health Science or Exercise Science is essential.

Experience in exercise programming will be beneficial.

This will suit those who enjoy being busy, managing their caseloads and administration, and those that are driven working autonomously on a daily basis (there will be no shortage of patients as it is a free service) and you will still have the benefits of a wider team.

The Organisation

Working with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Tasmania you will be joining a team of dedicated professionals providing health care to people living and working in rural and remote Australia. The RFDS provide free primary health care services and deliver them directly to community members to meet their needs.

Reporting to the Manager, Primary Health Care and working with the Team Leader Physical and Rural Health this position is part of a greater team in Tasmania, including exercise physiologists, physiotherapists, mental health workers and other physical health workers. You will have the support of this team, with regular staff meetings, access to clinical support/ advice and team professional development opportunities. There is an amazing culture throughout this team of likeminded individuals.

As well as this you will be part of a greater state-wide team of health professionals and a charitable national organisation with an impeccable reputation, synonymous with rural healthcare.
