Are you an Exercise physiologist or physical health worker with a Bachelor of Health Science or Exercise Science? Or in another related allied health role? Well here is your chance to join the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Tasmania.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) is seeking to recruit an allied health professional with experience in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation to join their primary health team. This role is responsible for improving health outcomes for people living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cardiovascular disease, mental illness and dementia and to improve their quality of life specifically those living in the Glamorgan Spring Bay municipality. Experience in exercise programming is essential.
This health worker position is for an initial period until 30th June 2021 and remuneration will be based on qualifications and experience (Health Professionals & Support Services Award).
This will suit those who enjoy being busy, managing their caseloads and administration, and those that are driven working autonomously on a daily basis (there will be no shortage of patients as it is a free service) and you will still have the benefits of a wider team.

Skills and experience
1. Accredited/registered Exercise qualification;
2. Demonstrate proficient skills in exercise program development, including assessment and provision of appropriate exercise programs to people with various health conditions,
3. Ability to conduct needs assessment and planning;
4. Possess the knowledge of health and well-being support in the region;
5. Ability to design information and communication sessions
6. Ability to collect and report accurate information;
7. Able to work autonomously and as part of a team;
8. Thorough knowledge of health services and issues pertaining to people living in rural and remote areas;
9. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and efficiently identify and resolve issues;
10. An understanding of person-centred care, health literacy, and social determinants of health;
11. Strong interpersonal, and written, communication and organisational skills, including the ability to ensure client comfort and confidentiality.
Working with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Tasmania you will be joining a team of dedicated professionals providing health care to people living and working in rural and remote Australia. The RFDS provide free primary health care services and deliver them directly to community members to meet their needs.
Reporting to the Manager, Primary Health Care and working with the Team Leader Physical and Rural Health this position is part of a greater team in Tasmania, including exercise physiologists, physiotherapists, mental health workers and other physical health workers. You will have the support of this team, with regular staff meetings, access to clinical support/ advice and team professional development opportunities. There is an amazing culture throughout this team of likeminded individuals.
As well as this you will be part of a greater state-wide team of health professionals and a charitable national organisation with an impeccable reputation, synonymous with rural healthcare.
