The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) is seeking to recruit a Physiotherapist, Exercise Physiologist or other allied health professional, with experience in musculoskeletal and/or cardiopulmonary rehabilitation to join their primary health team. This role is responsible for improving health outcomes and quality of life for people living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cardiovascular disease and chronic musculoskeletal disorders, in the Huon Valley. Experience in exercise programming is essential.
This is a 1.0 FTE role but other flexible work arrangements may be considered.
This allied health position is for a contracted period until 30th June 2023 and remuneration will be based on qualifications and experience (Health Professionals & Support Services Award).
This role will suit those who enjoy being busy, managing their own caseloads and administration, and those that are self-driven to work autonomously on a daily basis (there will be no shortage of patients as it is a free service). You will also have the benefits of working as part of a wider allied health team.
There are so many reasons to live and work on the Huon Valley, this job being one of them! You will be based in Huonville but will have the opportunity to work from other beautiful locations in the valley including Cygnet and Dover (tough gig)!
Huonville is just a short drive from Hobart but is a very different scene, surrounded by fruit orchards, farmland and situated on the Huon River. This region is a creative hub full of nature lovers, fine fresh produce, wineries and cider houses.
Working with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Tasmania, you will be joining a team of dedicated professionals providing health care to people living and working in rural and remote Australia. The RFDS provide free primary health care services and deliver them directly to community members to meet their needs.
Reporting to the Manager, Primary Health Care and working with the Team Leader Physical and Rural Health, this position is part of a large allied health team working across rural and remote Tasmania, which includes; Exercise Physiologists, Physiotherapists, Rural Health Workers, Dentists and Mental Health Clinicians. You will have the support of this team, with regular staff meetings, access to clinical support and advice, as well as regular team professional development opportunities.
