An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, qualified, and registered dentist with the ability to work autonomously to join the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Tasmania community-based mobile dental team.
The team value flexibility and welcome all kinds of work arrangements. Some of their current dentists have their own practices and they contribute time that fits in with their current work schedules. Full time, part time, ongoing and shorter term contracts will all be considered for the right person.
This mobile service is a vital link to bringing high-quality oral health care to their diverse, rural, and remote population groups across the North-West, North, and East Coast of Tasmania.
You will get the opportunity to work, stay and play in many sought after tourist destinations. Based in Launceston, Tasmania’s second largest city, with access to all the things you need in a city, just without the peak hour traffic delays or phenomenal house prices. It has become a lifestyle destination for good reason and is a hub for food, wine, modern arts and a great centre to discover Tasmania from.
Some of your work locations (which you will spend 4 days a week in and longer if you want to stay and explore) will include King Island, known for world class golf courses, stunning beaches and gourmet cheese, beef, and seafood. Flinders Island with its rugged coastlines and natural history. North West Tasmania with destinations to explore like The Nut in Stanley, the Tarkine Forest and everyone has heard of Cradle Mountain for good reason! On the East Coast you may be forced to stay and see some of the most magnificent blue water and whitest sand in the country.
It is likely you will get to see and experience more of Tasmania than most of the locals! All of this while improving health outcomes…………. but wait there is more!
Working with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Tasmania you will be joining a team of dedicated professionals providing health care to people living and working in rural and remote Australia. The RFDS provide free primary health care services and deliver them directly to community members to meet their needs.
You will have the support of this team, with regular staff meetings, access to clinical support/ advice and team professional development opportunities. There is an amazing culture throughout this team of likeminded individuals.
As well as this you will be part of a greater state-wide team of health professionals and a charitable national organisation with an impeccable reputation, synonymous with rural healthcare.
